What this function covers
Leadership is the foundation of everything CLINK does. Before young people can lead projects, campaigns or organisations, they need the confidence, judgement and practical skills to work with others and see something through.
This function builds leadership as a practice rather than a title. Young people learn how to listen, facilitate, decide, communicate, handle disagreement and take responsibility for outcomes.
Who it is for
Young people who want to take a more active role in their community, in civic life or in an organisation, and who are ready to learn by doing rather than only by attending sessions.
What we run
The Youth Leadership Academy anchors this function, supported by civic leadership activities, mentorship, policy dialogues and community leadership projects. Participants apply what they learn to real work, not hypothetical exercises.
How partners contribute
Partners bring mentorship, sector knowledge, platforms for dialogue and opportunities where young leaders can apply their skills. CLINK brings youth engagement, facilitation, programme design and coordination so that leadership learning connects to real pathways.
What we measure
We track participation and completion, changes in confidence and skills, mentor engagement, and whether participants move into concrete opportunities such as further training, civic roles or leadership positions.
